Yesterday, we learned that Samsung is developing its latest Android customisation for Galaxy smartphones, One UI 9.0 (Android 17), for the Galaxy S24 FE. While the upcoming major software update for the device is still months away, the brand is now rolling out a minor one. This one offers the June 2026 security patch.
The latest update fixes 45 security issues present in the previous firmware, which makes the Galaxy S24 FE more secure. As usual, the company is offering it first in its home market, South Korea. The update carries firmware version S721NKSSCDZF3. We expect the tech giant to release it in other regions over the next few days.
To check its availability in your region, go to Settings > Software update > Check for updates. Make sure that the battery is charged to at least 50% before installing the update. Otherwise, the phone won’t let you go ahead with the installation.
As for One UI 9.0, it is based on Android 17 and offers more user interface customisation options and additional features over One UI 8.5. Samsung is expected to debut its stable version next month with the Galaxy Z Fold series and Galaxy Z Flip 8.
